Kestrel Advisory, a fictional engineering consultancy, proposes to electrify the berths of the fictional Varne Harbour Authority before winter 2027. All names and figures are fictional.
What each slide does
- 01CoverThe outcome the client wants, as the title. Who it is for, from whom, and the date underneath.
- 02Your goalTheir goal, restated in their words. One sentence, with the number that matters to them.
- 03What we heardThree challenges you heard in their meetings. Specific, in their language, no solutions yet.
- 04SuccessHow the client will know it worked: two or three measurable targets, with the baseline.
- 05Our approachA section divider before the proposal itself.
- 06PlanThe approach in three to five phases, each with a date and the result it leaves behind.
- 07ScopeWhat is included and what is not, side by side. This prevents most disputes later.
- 08TeamThe people who will do the work: role, name and the one thing each brings.
- 09EvidenceOne result from a similar client, in their words, with who said it.
- 10InvestmentThe price per phase, each with what the client gets, and the total.
- 11Next stepsThe decision in one sentence, then two or three dated steps after it.
- 12ContactsWho to call afterwards: two or three people with role, email and phone.
What makes it work
- Open with the client's goal in their own words, never with your company profile.
- Prove you listened: name what you heard before you propose anything.
- Make success measurable before you describe the work.
- Say plainly what is included and what is not.
- Price by phase, each with what the client gets.
- End with one decision, a date and named contacts.
